SECOND CYCLE OF THE SELF-ASSESSMENT REPORT ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION AGAINST CORRUPTION

CNA’s Executive Director – along with his legal and communication advisors as well as a procurement officer - took part in the evaluation session of the second cycle of the Self-Assessment Report on the Implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission (CAC) and the United Nations (UN). The event took place in the Great Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dili, and its main goal was to evaluate the anti-corruption strategies of Timor- Leste’s public institutions. To this end, the evaluation team asked a number of questions regarding procurement procedures in terms of transparency, information disclosure, protests management, training of procurement officers, compliance with the law, among others. The Executive Director of CNA promptly answered all of those questions, and presented tangible examples of procurement practices in Timor-Leste and the measures taken which are aligned with the United Nations Convention Against Corruption. Besides CAC, UN and CNA, the meeting was also attended by representatives from SECOMS, the Press Council, Ministry of Finance, PDHJ and the Prosecutor General"s Office
