H.E. the Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment, Mr. Gastão de Sousa, together with ADB’s Country Director, the Vice President of CCI-TL and the Deputy Director of CNA, opened the 3-day training (November 25-27,2025) on Procurement Procedure and Contract Management Training for Implementing and Executing Agencies in Timor-Leste”, promoted by the ADB at the Novo Turismo Hotel in Lecidere, Dili. The ADB Country Director for Timor-Leste, Ms. Stefania Dina, as the organizer of the event, welcomed all participants and added that the ADB is strongly committed to supporting the Government of Timor- Leste, particularly by continuing to strengthen the capacity of the private sector so that local companies can participate in public tenders for the development of the country’s infrastructures. During the opening session, H.E. the Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment emphasized the importance of this training for the qualification of local companies as well as CNA’s role in Timor-Leste’s procurement procedures, stating that all stakeholders must act with accountability and transparency. In his speech, CNA’s Deputy Director, Mr. Nelson dos Santos Gusmão, thanked the ADB for organizing such event with CNA’s support and requested the local entrepreneurs to participate actively in order to improve their knowledge and therefore to have more opportunities while competing in future national and international tenders. He also emphasized the importance of this training for the qualification of local companies because of its practical approach, simulating real-life situations related to procurement’s daily operations. In addition to local companies, this training was also attended by 14 of CNA’s employees (national and international) as well as MPW’s (PMU) and the Ministry of Finance representatives.
